Questions
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts. Everything you log stays on your device.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes. Every problem, grade and description is built into the app, so browsing, search, grade filters and your logbook all work offline. For the map, download the region's offline map before you go.
How do I download an offline map?
On the home screen, tap a region under Offline maps to start its download. Or tap Offline maps on the Map tab to see every region with its size. If you leave Cruxlog, the download pauses and picks up where it stopped when you come back. Without an offline map, the map uses Apple Maps when you're online and a simpler built-in map when you're not.
How do I remove an offline map?
Tap Offline maps on the Map tab and delete the region. Boulder pins stay on the map, and you can download it again later.
How do I delete my logbook or all my data?
Touch and hold a send or a to-do in the Logbook to delete it. To delete everything, delete the app: all its data is on your device, and we don't keep a copy. See the privacy policy.
Is my logbook synced or backed up?
It isn't synced between devices. It's included in your normal iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a computer), and it's lost if you delete the app without a backup.
A problem is missing or has the wrong grade.
Climbing data comes from OpenBeta, an open, community-edited database. Each problem has a "View on OpenBeta" link where you can fix it, and corrections show up in a later version of Cruxlog. You can also email us.
Which areas does Cruxlog cover?
Bouldering in Joshua Tree, Stoney Point, Idyllwild / San Jacinto and Red Rocks: 3,166 problems.
